When I decided to start a blog, I don’t had doubts, I knew that the text should be about Berlin. Since then it’s been a couple years, and I felt as happy and then (at least annually) back.
Because it is different from all the cities (especially German). Because it is open, artistic, tolerant and inspiring. Center underground and alternative lifestyles. City of freedom, a feeling that has always belonged here.
Trying every visit to this city to see, learn, explore and discover something new, something I had not seen, felt and experienced.
On the other hand, I have a favorite park, favorite metro station, a favorite street which required a walk when I’m there. I can never make up my mind whether I like it more during the day or at night.
As each religion has its sacred places, so I think some of Berlin ‘my holiness’.
This year, Germany for all the bells marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Bauhaus school in Weimar. Jubilee on the field of art, design, architecture and craftsmanship. It is especially prominent in Germany, however, the influence of the Bauhaus is important in the world while celebrating the centenary globally.
I believe in the theory that form should follow function, and therefore I am always fascinated by strong intellectual ideas of the Bauhaus. I like him as a heritage, spirit and style of the Bauhaus visible today.
Wall that was erected almost overnight in 1961 (about 150km long) The Soviets wanted to stop the mass displacement of the population from the eastern to the western block, today’s outdoor gallery. Synonymous with the cold war and division, East side gallery seems to be in a near future re-painted and updated. Somehow she patina that previously had been interesting, but it’s not bad i like this “civilized”.
If you are planning a trip to Berlin, do not forget in the time, and you book online visit the Reichstag (Parliament). I recommend to all my friends this. It does not matter whether you tour during the day or evening, I promise, you will enjoy. The idea that glass dome lowered to the parliament building and make it clear to their politicians to be people watching from above, and they have to watch what they are doing is simply brilliant.
When you are already near Paris square , stop for a moment and enjoy Brandenburg Gate. Every day, from the square range of free tours (lasting about two and a half hours), where local guides will approach you and meet with interesting thing on the net can be read. Guides are working on the principle of giving tip to the end of the tour, how much you want and if you want to.
Memorial and museum dedicated to the Murdered Jews are also located nearby.
When in Berlin, be sure to take for visit a welcome card. There are various benefits with this card. From the transport, through a discount for entry to museums, climbing on the TV tower, boat rides to various discounts in the boutiques, cafes …. A handful of the benefits with this card and really worth.
My favorite square in Berlin (especially during the Christmas holidays) the Gendarmenmarkt. In the market there are two almost identical churches (German and French) and between them is located a concert hall. In their vicinity, another sacred to me. A charming little shop that Ritter Sport in an assortment of my favorite chocolate with macadamia.
Berlin is completely flat and is well pleased pedal and explore it by bike.
The weather was changeable, so we packed raincoats backpack and went to the zoo, which is located in the southwestern part of the Tiergarten park. We have not got wet (we were lucky) and is enjoying the zoo was relaxed.
Walk zoo was always a winning combination. While on the one hand trying to scoot about town and lots to see, walk through zoo is fun for me right relief (this is definitely one of the most interesting gardens that I have visited).
This time visit to Berlin finishing at Monkey Bar. Conveniently, with good music, Berliner beer and views of Berlin from the tenth floor.
