It is impossible not to know anything about LA. Before we went on the road, I had an idea of it. In addition I was informed and somewhere I imagined him to be a city full of beautiful people.
As I prepared and informed about LA before trip, one thought consumed me is: why people who write about him so briefly describe it! Why is most of the texts a lot commonplace?
When I saw him, I realized.
For years, Los Angeles develops from the village. This “small village” make it what it is – a megalopolis. LA has it all, but there’s no soul, they don’t have something to make me come back again.
I trying days after our return to sit down to start writing to tell you about our stay and my impressions. Do not be discourage my introduction, I’m so glad we visited.
LA has some interest places, however, the biggest problem is coming to them and return … It’s the most tired – traffic, regardless of whether you have or use car, transport , all is too long (even for us who were on vacation and we never hurrying and rushing).
The interesting thing, it seemed to me that the word stress in this city does not exist.
People you meet on the street, transportation, restaurant, beach are very kind. The word “very” to be drawn out in the description, so you sometimes seems that is not really what is the dose of kindness, directness and respect. In the traffic no one will trumpet (in spite of the terrible traffic jams). On the street, people will approach and enter with you into the story, just to see if you are ok and if you need some form of assistance. It happened to me the first day that I think it’s a hidden camera. Unlike us in this part of the world who constantly chase and do not pay enough attention to the people, nor do we have time for that, people in LA are different. Cultural and very nice.
We rented a house that was almost close to downtown. It is close to an hour .. That depends on how much traffic jam. Minimum six lanes in one direction and twenty kilometers, can easily turn into an hour in traffic.
Let’s stop whining, something that’s not like me and that you describe and convey those cool things that we have experienced. Great is that, although I’ve never been in LA, most of the things I recognized. Mostly from movies or series that I watched.
First Santa Monica, rarely interesting part of the city. Not too big but it is clean and beautiful for life. Bathed in the sun, even in February. Beautiful sandy, several miles of beach with dock where ends historic Route 66, which runs from Chicago to the West Coast and the Pacific.
The promenade is full of restaurants and cafes. There is also an amusement park Ferris wheel, and it’s really pleasure to watch him how to surf and large waves of the Pacific Ocean demonstrates the strength. Life takes place on the beaches, I can only imagine what it was at the height of the season.
We tried to get as many travel around and see so we were next on the list was Venice Beach, one of the most popular destinations in Los Angeles. Surf, ride a skateboard, roller skates, running … Whichever way you turn you have a big smile, it is full of life and everything is in motion. A lot of colors, smells .. All “freaks” of the world gather here. Venice beach we really liked.
We did not miss it at the beach lifeguard pictures of homes for rescue. All they remember from the famous series Baywatch.
Right behind the beach there are Venice channels by which this part of its name. I had to go down in that part of the hidden and idyllic houses and bridges, mostly because Californication series that I followed and which parts were filmed here. I loved it.
The interesting thing is that generally in LA all the streets riding skateboards and scooters. Following the street you will see scooters on all sides. Mainly because Uber app Lift and there’s the possibility of renting scooters. The point is that the walk along the boulevards really difficult, so the Lift and Uber “threw” (literally) scooters the city. When you encounter one, and you want to ride, raise it to the curb, across the app and activate it when you are finished driving or dead (all electric) again via the app it off. Minute ride is 15 cents an hour nine dollars.
The next day and Beverly Hills, located in the western part of LA. We have not met Brenda, Brandon, Kelly and the rest of the 90210 but we didn’t come on this occasion. We ride the famous quarter, noted that the BH build “real home” since the rest of the city is wooden houses. Luxury can be seen here unlike other parts of LA. Here they live with a lot of love, surrounded by high fences and greenery. Paramount in America is to have a house in Beverly Hills.
How to go to LA and do not walk on blinking stars !? The Hollywood and Walk of Fame. Of course we walked the path of fame. Or sidewalk with the stars, which is located in Hollywood Boulevard. I personally do not fascinate, took pictures beside the Association Sheron Stone, purely as a souvenir. We visited the Dolby Theater (Oscars), Chinese Theater and Madame Tussauds wax museum located in the same street.
It depends on what are your interest LA offers a range of studios and theme parks that are open to the public.
In the Downtown we visited Disney Concert Hall and the Town hall and several times lost because the Google map you walking how he wants (mostly wrong). The largest group of skyscrapers here, there’s little to Beverly Hills and the Hollywood but most of the house.
I haven’t mentioned food so far. The food was completely average. Everything was tasty and ok (portions are large) but nothing special and new to try. In doing so, it is not cheap.
I mentioned that I expected that this beautiful stylized people, with a beautiful smile and teeth. Exact opposite! Far from it, they are not neat and clean, but the style is not their forte. Although there is a cloakroom and footwear brands that in Europe exorbitant pay for every budget and very accessible, unfortunately, to be on the street can not see. Even I’m not that fashion generally interest and wear clothes just because it has to be (the first thing you reach under the arm) I was the queen of style. In Los Angeles, at least it seems to me, the trend is that there are a lot of strange trends and styles (everything hanging on them and look like bums). I can only say that Europe is a place where style is congenital!
For me LA is unattractive city. I mentioned at the beginning of the text there are simply not that something. Mass entertainment industry. I can not define what I expect from some city or town what is for interesting. But when you informed as you pass a certain part of the city, that there is the hotel in which Whitney Houston killed and presented as a sensation, damn it all.
I’ll add you important thing at the end, California was part of Mexico until 1864. Hispanics now make up the largest part of the population California.
We go further, to San Diego.
